Privacy
DiskSphere makes no network requests: the scan, the map and the Trash all happen on your Mac. This page says what the app keeps on your disk, and what this site and the payment collect.
Updated October 2026. The data controller is Andrea Sertorio, Italy — hello@docthebrain.com.
The DiskSphere app
- The app sends nothing over the network: no analytics, no crash reports, no account, no update check.
- It reads the names, sizes and dates of the files you choose to scan. It does not open their content and it sends nothing to us.
- It writes only in
~/Library/Application Support/com.docthebrain.disksphere/: the last folders you scanned (at most 8 paths), the window size and your colour choices. - It keeps no log files.
- To remove everything: drag DiskSphere to the Trash and delete that folder.
This website
- Hosting. The site runs on Vercel. Like any web server, Vercel processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the pages.
- Visit counts. Vercel Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.
- No cookies. The site sets none. Your browser keeps one setting locally, the volume of Doc's voice; it never leaves your browser.
- Waiting list. If you leave your email under “I want the brain too”, it is stored in a database hosted by Neon. We use it only to send you one email when Doc is ready. Ask and we delete it.
Payments
Stripe handles the payment. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us. From Stripe we receive your name, email, country and the amount paid, which we need to deliver the app, answer you and keep the records the law requires. Stripe's own policy is at stripe.com/privacy.
Why we keep data, and for how long
- Purchase data: to fulfil the sale, kept as long as Italian tax law requires.
- Waiting-list email: with your consent, until Doc is ready or until you ask us to delete it.
- Visit counts: anonymous, to see which pages people read.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete your data, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Write to hello@docthebrain.com. You can also complain to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
